Admissions

Applying for a school place:

If your child was born between 1st September 2020 and 31 August 2021 your child will start school in the 2025/2026 school year.

Applications will be taken by the Local Authority between September and December 2024.

Beighton Nursery Infants adheres to the Sheffield Pupil Admissions Policy from the Local Authority. Parents/carers should apply for school places via Sheffield City Council.

On their website you will find the Local Authority policy for admissions as well as guidance for parents/carers on the admissions process. It also provides information on the application process, catchment areas, online application forms, over subscription, admissions policy and appeals.

We encourage prospective parents and pupils to visit our school - our final 2 'Welcome to Reception' events are on Wednesday 20th November at 9am and 5pm.

If you can't attend a 'Welcome to Reception' event, please contact our school office on (0114) 2486572 to arrange a suitable time.

Mid-Year Transfers:

All transfers between schools are handled by Primary Admissions at Sheffield City Council. A Common Transfer form can be collected from our school office.

Applying for Nursery:

Children generally start with us in the September after their 3rd birthday and we offer the following sessions (whilst available):

  • 30 hour place (with a valid qualifying code) – 8.30am to 3.30pm, Monday to Friday (if you use your full 30 hours with us, you actually get 35 free)

  • 15 hour morning place - 8.30am to 11.30am, Monday to Friday

  • 15 hour afternoon place - 12.30pm to 3.30pm, Monday to Friday

It is rare that we have any spaces available after the September intake however, if capacity allows, children may start with us in the January or April after their 3rd birthday. After the September intake, all three session types may not be available.

Application forms can be downloaded here or collected from our school office.

Please see here for our Nursery Admissions Policy and Nursery Fees Policy.

Please be aware that it is the Local Authority that allocates school places so a place in our nursery, does not necessarily guarantee admission into school.
